In Praise of Beauty

There is much beauty
Everywhere I look
The stars in the sky
The sound of a brook

I've probably used this form without realising it has a name!

I suspect the Quatrain is almost 'natural', almost 'biological'. It seems to appear in some permutation everywhere. I discovered, after spending a long time with Chinese Quatrains, that there is a whole, long, and revered tradition of Persian Quatrain poetry, including Quatrains by Rumi and Omar Khayyam. I sometimes wonder if there is any historical influence between the Chinese and Persian versions.
