Thanks for the kind comment.

I don't find becoming irrelevant necessarily a bad thing. In some ways I find it restful. It's easier to let younger people with more energy take the lead. The last line can be understood as "now that I am old and have less obligations and projects, I have time to notice an autumn afternoon."
