Based on a Poem by Li Po

All of those old men
Sitting on the park benches
Are like autumn leaves.
One strong wind and they will fall,
Never to be seen again.

I liked this.
But it would have been nice to have a link to Li Po's poem.
How about a pic to beautify the post!

Thanks, Sabio, for your persistence. I am going to post regarding comments and I think this will answer your questions and respond to your suggestions.

I found this poem yeas ago as a calligraphy for sale at an art store; but I didn't copy it down and don't know where the calligrapher found it. It's just something that struck me and resulted in this Tanka. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Best wishes,

Jim

So, the poem you posted is yours?
Or the Li Po poem you say in a Garage Sale?

Yes, the poem I posted is mine. Years ago I saw the poem by Li Po on a calligraphy; but I never saw it again. Li Po wrote regular lines, Chinese style; meaning that his poem would have had a regular syllable count for each line, like five or seven characters. He didn't write Tanka. But the images stayed with me all these years, so one day I transformed it into a Tanka.

Thanks,

Jim
